Helpful Tips Can Be Found On Paleo Diet Blogs

By Tamika Powell

The Paleolithic diet has been around for centuries and is the oldest eating program known to man. It was followed by essentially all humans for thousands of years. Paleo diet blogs state that the diet's basics are easy to learn, and those who decide to follow this plan do not typically struggle with excess pounds. In addition, they are often healthier than individuals who follow diets of a more contemporary type.

The plan centers around meat, fowl, seafood, vegetables, nuts, and certain types of fruits. The simple rule that is followed with this type of eating plan is that one consumes only foods that grow naturally on the Earth or are acquired through fishing or hunting. Those who promote the Paleo approach claim that such items are the only foods intended for consumption by humans beings.

Man-made foods typically contain flour. Such fare includes a wide selection of breads and pastas, which are highly popular in today's modern world. However, such foods are man-made, rather than natural.

Health-conscious individuals have been told for many years that adhering to high-carbohydrate, low-fat diets is the best way to lose weight. However, scientific studies continuously proves that diets that are high in starch and feature foods that are heavily processed are actually hazardous to one's health. Additional research has concluded that such eating programs are of little or no help regarding weight loss.

Play on dieting blogs have also brought to light the fact that the incidence of coronary artery disease and high blood sugar have skyrocketed throughout the global population over the past fifty years. This increase directly correlates to the time when many individuals began to shun the Paleo dieting approach in lieu of the aforementioned high-starch, low-fat programs. Some fault the United States FDA for this unhealthy trend, as this is the period of time during which they introduced the food pyramid chart.

The aforementioned chart uses breads and pastas as the foundation of a nutritious eating program. However, certain consumers argue that starch should not be regarded by the FDA as a primary food group. Their reason for feeling this way stems from the fact that essentially all starch-based foods were invented by man.

The Paleo dieting approach centers on fare that can be eaten in its natural state. Foods of this type include essentially any item that would have been available to man before the invention of processed foods, such as in the hunter-gatherer societies of centuries past. Man-made creations and processed foods are not part of the Paleo eating program. Rather, such diets focus on fresh produce, nuts, poultry, beef, and seafood.

Many dietitians are of the opinion that the benefits of this way of eating will become increasingly apparent as more men and women refer to Paleo diet blogs and begin changing their eating programs to include the aforementioned foods rather than following diets that are high in starch and feature man-made fare. Although most people who follow this type of program experience positive results, it is always wise to speak to a health care practitioner before making any changes to one's eating habits.
